Squeed: Driver Dispatch Mobile App with Automated Snowcompare Booking Import

Overview

Squeed runs private drivers for ski-resort transfers and was dispatching trips by phone, message and spreadsheet. The original ask was modest: a driver dispatch app 'a bit like WAY D' so their ten employed drivers could see all the information for each trip in one place. What I delivered went well beyond that. The platform now supports more than 500 drivers creating their own accounts, and gives the admin a dispatch console to assign, reassign or remove a driver on any ride. On top of that I automated the intake side: whenever a passenger books a transfer on Snowcompare, the confirmation email that lands in the admin's Yahoo Mail inbox is parsed automatically and the reservation appears in the app as a structured ride — pickup, drop-off, date, time and passenger details already filled in. The admin's only remaining job is to pick a driver.

The challenge

• Trip details lived in phone calls, messages and inboxes, so drivers often arrived with incomplete or outdated information.
• The company planned to grow far beyond its ten employed drivers, so manual account creation and manual dispatch would not scale.
• Assignments changed constantly — cancellations, delays and swaps — and every change had to reach the right driver immediately.
• Every Snowcompare booking arrived only as an email in the admin's Yahoo Mail, and re-typing each reservation was slow and error-prone.
• Ski-resort transfers are time-critical: a missed or mis-assigned pickup means a passenger stranded in the cold.

What I built

• A driver mobile app with self-service sign-up, so drivers onboard themselves instead of being created by hand — now supporting 500+ accounts.
• A ride feed for each driver showing full trip information: pickup and drop-off, timing, passenger details and status.
• An admin dispatch console to assign, change or remove the driver on any ride, with the driver's app updating in real time.
• An automated email intake pipeline: Snowcompare booking confirmations arriving in the admin's Yahoo Mail are parsed and converted into structured reservations inside the app.
• Duplicate and update handling so an amended or cancelled booking email updates the existing ride instead of creating a second one.
• Push notifications on assignment and reassignment so drivers never have to refresh to find out what changed.

Results

• Scaled from a 10-driver internal tool to a platform supporting more than 500 driver accounts.
• Booking entry became fully automatic — Snowcompare reservations reach the app with no manual re-typing.
• Dispatch reduced to a single decision: pick the driver for an already-complete ride record.
• Assignment changes propagate instantly to the affected driver instead of chasing calls and messages.
• One source of truth for every trip, removing the mismatch between the admin's inbox and what drivers actually see.
